‘They’ll make great parents’: Meghan’s sweet moment with blind girl

Just in case you needed another example of why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are so popular with the public, details have emerged of the couple’s touching exchange with a young blind girl.

On Monday, Harry and Meghan paid a visit to the English town of Birkenhead, near Liverpool, and stopped in Hamilton Square to say hello to fans who had gathered to see the pair.

According to Twitter user @TraceyMariex, Harry and Meghan paid some special attention to her niece, who is blind.

“The little girl with the grey hat with a black bobble (my niece who is blind) Harry held on to her ensuring she was safe,” @TraceyMariex tweeted, also sharing photos of the meeting.

“Meghan went down on the floor to take a card she had made for her in braille. They’ll make great parents.”

During the visit Meghan also revealed her due date and told fans the couple were yet to find out if they were having a girl or a boy.

According to Hello! royal correspondent Emily Nash, the Duchess of Sussex told wellwishers she is due in late April or early May.

“We asked her how her pregnancy was going and she said she was six months and she tapped her tummy,” a royal fan named Carla Gand, who was there with her four-year-old daughter Sofia, told People.

The visit to Birkenhead was Meghan and Harry’s first joint appearance for 2019, with the couple previously appearing together at Sandringham for a Christmas Day church service.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex put on a united front alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton following weeks of reports of a rift between the two couples.

Earlier this week it was confirmed Meghan’s female bodyguard had quit after less than a year, the third close aide to Meghan to leave her employment in just over two months.

A Scotland Yard source toldThe Sunday Times : “Unlike someone who has grown up in the royal family and has been used to close protection from an early age, having it can be quite constraining.

“Even though she was a famous actress, she could still do what she wanted in the way of getting around freely.

“But in her current role she can’t go anywhere without her protection team and that’s a massive constraining force on an individual like her.”
